Beluga – Perth

Beluga is the new kid on the block in Perth in Claremont. They claim to be THE seafood restaurant however their menu offers a lot more than just seafood. A very large restaurant with a bright open kitchen. Tables with high stools and normal chairs so caters for all. The service on the night wasn’t the best. When one of the waiters delivered our entrée he said – not sure what this is and just left it there. Interesting! The food was also ok. The scallops was very bland and my friend didn’t enjoy it at all. The good old chicken pie was probably the best. I guess that says it all for a seafood restaurant.

Deep fried prawns – nice and crunchy and a tangy sauce

Potato croquettes with shaved cheese and truffle oil – I did like this one. Soft on the inside and crunchy outside however could not taste the truffle oil at all.

Chicken pie – it actually tasted good. Nice pastry and full of flavour chicken.

Rigatoni with mixed seafood and fetta – pasta with mixed seafood and fetta warmed in the open. Looks a bit dry but actually tasted pretty good. Not much seafood though.

Scallops with chorizo and chickpea stew – a real let down. Not the best presentation, bland scallops, not really ideal for a main.

Chocolate tart with quince pure cream
