Rockpool Bar & Grill – Melbourne

When the Rockpool newsletter came in this month and the highlight under Rockpool Melbourne was – The truffle omelette! 3 egg omelette infused with black Perigord truffles from Tamar Valley in Tassie, bruschetta with truffle butter and generous shavings of the truffle over the top – how could you not go!!!!! So we called and got them to hold a couple of serves for us. The restaurant is beautiful. You walk in through an awards wall, wine cabinets, fridge housing huge hams, chefs shucking oysters and a large open kitchen full of very busy chefs. Great service and a great menu. Wish we could have experienced more of the dishes. Another timeā€¦.

Wood fire grilled octopus with tarator sauce, grilled marinated radicchio and pine nuts – the octopus was tender and warm and the crunchy pinenuts went perfectly well with the salad.

The ciampini – Chestnut meringue and ice cream sandwich – This was highly recommended to us so we did order it. For me it was ok. Yes I did finish every but of it but I guess I am a chocoholic and chestnut just did not do it for me

Chocolate jaffa mousse cake – this on the other hand was totally to die for! Loved every bite of it and licked the plate clean.
