Sparrow – Adelaide

Cant believe Sparrow has been open since Dec 2008 and we have not been there as yet and nor have I read much about it. It was a real nice surprise. Loved it. You could go there a few times in a week and have a totally different menu. They have this huge cabinet with beautiful hams hanging in there and cans of ortiz anchovies as well. Or you could go for a tapas style meal with lots of small sharing plates. Wood fired pizzas or even paella and sangria on the weekends. Their mains look amazing too with beef cheek and quail. Today we had the tapas for lunch and really enjoyed it. Loved the presentation, size of the dishes and the taste. Great meal and would love to go back and try the rest.

Kingfish sashimi, ham consomm̩, wasabi pea mousse and puffed wild rice Рthe mousse was not too wasabi but just right. loved the crunch of the puffed rice. great combinations

Chargrilled octopus, sumac and lemon chickpeas – great spice…a bit too oily though…

Churros, chocolate and hazelnut sauce – yum…licked the sauce bowl clean 🙂
