Two Small Rooms – Brisbane

by Suha on September 2, 2011

Brisbane is totally shining in the restaurant scene this year. Every restaurant has been great and the cuisine spectacular. Wonder what it is? They are doing amazing truffles, fresh produce, great innovative combinations of flavours and great service. Tonight we dined at two small rooms in Milton. That is what it is – two small rooms however with great cuisine. It is BYO as well and I am sure what made our meal more spectacular on the night was the lovely company and the great wines we had. A 1996 Billecart Salmon and a 1995 Vosne Romanee 1er cru burgundy. We had the West Australian Black Truffle Degustation menu. To die for…..come I have some more?

Truffled scrambled egg with Avruga caviar – so soft and warm and full of truffle. Egg and truffle – a marriage made in heaven.

Ceviche of yellow tail king fish with fresh truffle vinaigrette – never had this combination before but it does do it. Amazing….

Black truffle escargot – hot and butter and perfect

Rare roasted venison loin with black truffle mushroom fricassee and veal jus – perfectly cooked loin

Black truffle brillat savarin cheese fondue – so good. Licked the bowl clean

Hot ricotta dumplings, truffle honey sabayon and candies truffle – every element of this dish was divine. Again licked the plate clean.

Chocolate brownies as petit fours
