Tartufo – Brisbane

Tartufo – Italian for truffle and yes that is what attracted me to this restaurants straight away. Tartufo is the new kid on the block in Brisbane and is a venture by chef Tony Percuoco. Tony had the opposite to a sea change. He moved after spending 20 years at Fellini’s on the Gold Coast to down town Brisbane and opened Tartufo at the Emporium. Tony is the brother of Sydney legend Armando and he now promises to bring true Italian cuisine to the Brisbane crowd. There was so many things I wanted to try on the menu but once they mentioned that the specials of the day included fresh Tasmanian truffles – all plans changes. Yes – I love winter for just one reason – truffles. With three regions in Australia now growing truffles – it is awesome!!!! Canberra, Tasmania and WA.
