Nilgiris – St Leonards – Sydney

by Suha on July 23, 2011

It is surprising that I have not blogged about Nilgiris so far. We have dined here numerous times and enjoyed some great meals by chef Ajoy Joshi. Ajoy has had Nilgiris Indian restaurants for over a decade now and he has done wonders with it. He holds very successful cooking classes here, offers chef’s tables, changes the menu every month to cover different regions of Indian cuisine and heaps of other very exciting stuff. Just check out his website and blog. His food is very authentic and full of flavour. It is not too hot and nor is it bland. His dhosas are always perfect and a must have. He is one of the few chefs who does kulfi and the flavours he offers are amazing….I love the date and honey and also the saffron…actually they are all yum 🙂

Ajwain jhinga – prawns chickpea flour battered

Lamb shanks with dhansak – a parsi curry made of veges and lentils

Zaaffrani biryani

Chatni machi – green herb marinated fish fillet grilled
