Lauxes – Gold Coast

by Suha on September 2, 2011

The menu says – a difficult name to remember? Spell it backwards. So that is what Lauxes is all about. Nice décor and live music and a great menu. The menu starts off with a variety of oysters with all sorts of interesting toppings. Liked the sound of the other dishes too and definitely a great spot on the coast. Great night.

Quail – stuffed with goats feta and wild mushrooms, wrapped in prosciutto with caramelized parsnips and madeira jus – really nice

Pasta linguine with black truffle cream sauce, prawns and truffle carpaccio – was a bit heavy with the cream sauce but great truffle flavours.

Tempura moreton bay bug, wok fried Asian veges, black beans with chilli, ponzu and ginger sauce – really nice. Loved the tangy flavours

Fresh goat cheese salad baby beets and pear with pistachio emulsion

Frangelico dark truffles – very rich and chocolaty…yum
